Mr. Whimsy Beading's Collar

Ms. Whimsy Beading says I talk about her too much in this blog. That I need to talk about something else for a change, and stop harping about how much clover I'm not getting, or she'll make me into the world's tiniest, most ingrateful sweater.

She's a wonderful woman, really she is. Since I am such a good spokesram, I will abide by her wishes and talk about someone else for a while.

Mr. Whimsy Beading.

Mr. Whimsy Beading has been learning to make beaded "lace" collars. Here is his first collar.

These humans, always up to something new, I tell you.

Fall's Glory

Ms. Whimsy Beading can be such a selfish creature. Why, just the other weekend at the big bead show hoedown, she found this metal plated maple leaf. It was all shiny and copper colored and Ms. Whimsy Beading started to salivate and make that noise in the back of her throat that sounds like "squee" but doesn't quite make it. Then I think she threatened to kill someone else who was looking at the same leaf pendant, but she swears she really didn't, or at least she didn't mean to say it out loud. She says that if I value my clover and my hide, I'll assure you fine people that she never said any such thing, and you can't argue with that. At least, I'm not going to argue with it.

Well, I guess the leaf just wasn't shiny enough for her. So she got a bunch of those little pointy crystal beads and a bunch of other tiny beads, then she dithered with Mr. Whimsy Beading for a while, talking about things like color composition and the "feel of the piece" and a bunch of other artsy stuff that just means she couldn't make up her human mind. Then finally she found what she wanted, and she made this:

Looks like fall to me, how about you folks?

Spiderwebs Pendant

The Whimsy Beadings went to the big Rings & Things hoedown up in Cincinnati last weekend. Among the treasures to be had was a strand of spiderweb agate that Ms. Whimsy Beading just had to have. Seriously, people, she was clutching it to her like it was a little puppy or something.

After they got home and fed all the horrible felines, canines and yours truly, Mrs. Whimsy Beading set about making a pendant of the type she'd been admiring for so long, using the aforementioned spiderweb agate and some red "velvet quartz" beads she had left over from raiding Mr. Whimsy Beading's stash a while back. She added some sterling silver spacers, a sterling eye pin and some sterling silver choker chain and called it good.

What do you think, folks? Is it good?

Ms. Whimsy Beading's Ruby Bracelet

Ruby Bracelet, originally uploaded by WhimsyBeading.

Ms. Whimsy Beading finished this bracelet last night, cursing all the while because she kept stabbing herself in the finger with her beading needle. She and Mr. Whimsy Beading were just as pleased as punch how this turned out and the button they got for the clasp. I have to admit, it's pretty eye catching.

So I ask you other humans, was it worth poking that many holes in your fingers? Was it worth my clover ration being late? Because it was late. Very, very late. How's a growing spokesram supposed to grow if I don't get any clover, I ask you?

*sigh* Humans.
